Learn Guitar Tabs Online – The Significance Of Studying Guitar Tablature
In our times, everyone can learn guitar tabs online, without the support of a music instructor because it’s not exactly rocket science. Not many guitar learners like the theory of guitar and the study of tabs, and they pass directly to practicing with chords, which is quite a minus, especially if you want to become good at playing guitar. Reading the tablature of a song, you can easily discover a mistake that you are making, analyze and visualize the song. Also, if you like to compose, you can always write down bits that come to you, which can turn into the next greatest hit after a little polish.
What exactly is a guitar tab?
Tablature is a method of writing music for guitar but instead of using the standard musical notation, it uses numbers. That’s why if you learn guitar tabs online it’s very easy to copy/paste your songs, or to write them yourself.
A guitar tab will point out what notes should be played, which string to hit and which fret to fret it at. Tabs also reveal the hammer-ons and pull-off, bends, slides, harmonics and vibrato. Tabs specify the tuning of a certain piece and the use of capos. If there’s no specification in this direction, then you should take it as a standard tuning.
A tab doesn’t indicate the rhythm of a song or a certain piece, but will point out the long and short notes. However, you will have to use your ear to determine the right rhythm and length of the notes.
What exactly a guitar tab won’t let you know?
As I said, guitar tabs don’t specify the lengths of the notes to be played. Tablature also doesn’t reveal the position of your fingers on the frets. You will have to figure that out by yourself, working on your guitar and find out which finger is more comfortable on which fret. A guitar tab also does not give details on strumming or picking, so you must decide where the upstrokes and downstrokes are.
Now, as I learn guitar tabs online like many others, I constantly increase my database of easy tabs and easy songs I find on the Internet, to practice with. Of course, I’m not talking here about the “Mary Had a Little Lamb” tabs, but the ones for well-known songs, played by famous artists. So, if you’re looking for easy tabs like me, here are the ones you might want to dig up: The Troggs – “Wild Thing”, Bob Marley – “Redemption Song”, Pink Floyd – “Wish You Were Here”, Green Day – “Time of Your Life”.
I have to admit though, that even if I study classical guitar and acoustic guitar without a guitar tutor, and also learn guitar tabs online, I still help myself with an excellent online guitar learning program.
I strongly recommend this Guitar Guide to everyone that wants to learn guitar tabs online as well as all the other aspects of this beautiful instrument, because it simply rocks. Check it out!

Learn To Play Guitar Chords – Five Mistakes To Correct When Learning To Play Chords On Guitar
To learn to play guitar chords without a teacher seems tough at the beginning. That’s not a reason to give up. Most of the greatest guitarists started this instrument without a tutor and they didn’t have Internet either. Guitar chords are one of the most important aspects of this beautiful instrument and it doesn’t matter what kind of guitar you play, acoustic, electric or classic, a consistent understanding about chords is necessary. But since theory is boring, many students skip the chords lessons trying to take on the guitar directly and starting to make their own music, but if you’re not a total genius in this instrument, this is totally wrong.
The best thing to do if you want to learn to play guitar chords is to detect the most common mistakes, and also to recognize and correct your own “bad-habits”. In this article, I’m going to clarify 5 of the most common mistakes that people learning guitar chords are doing and you should avoid.
1. The first and the most basic mistake not only playing chords on guitar but for the entire guitar play is a wrong playing position. Many beginners tend to arch their body over the guitar to observethe strings or even to “listen” closely to the sounds which is pretty dumb. A wrong posture fatigues your whole body and affects your playing. So, the first step to learn to play guitar chords is keep a loosen posture, relax your hands as much as possible and you’ll see that everything will go right.
2. Another important mistake to focus your attention if you’re to learn to play guitar chords is not visualizing the chord itself. As I said previously, most students tend to look at the fretboard and at their fingers instead of visualizing the position of their fingers. To cure this try playing with your eyes closed and hear the music instead of looking at it.
3. Another mistake to watch for is to avoid doing the same interval all the time. Good players always mix and match for effect, breaking the pattern into interesting pieces, showing their versatility at the same time. Of course, this takes practice, but will help you improve.
4. Even if many guitarists leave their pinky finger out of work, because of its length, that doesn’t mean it’s useless. All your fingers must be hovering over the strings all the time! For example, when you play a D chord, your pinky finger must be somewhere over the high E or B. Anyway, don’t try to stretch it too hard because this may lead to hand pain.
5. Another bad-habit for playing chords is not picking the chord. Sometimes by strumming a chord you will see that you’re hitting dead notes. It’s a good thing to stop and repeat until you do it right, but a more experienced guitar player will pick each note separately to analyze fast which string is giving the dead note. So, always pick the chord, not just grip it on your fret.
Now that you know about these mistakes that you can make while learning chords, you can correct them or avoid burning them into your guitar style. To learn to play guitar chords properly, focus on these mistakes first, then try to find yours and eventually you’ll be on the right way to becoming a good guitarist.
I’ve learned to discover and remedy all my guitar mistakes from an excellent Guitar Guide that I strongly recommend to everyone studying guitar. All the videos, lessons and software helped me Learn to Play Guitar Chords, without the boredom of intense theory.

Learn To Play Guitar Fast – 5 Things To Know For Guitar Beginners
I’m sure that to learn to play guitar fast is one of your goals if you are a beginner guitarist, but that can only be achieved through a lot of practice. However, if you’re a beginner as I am, you will probably not sound right trying to increase your speed if you don’t start the right way. Music is about passion and if you are a guitar lover don’t just give up playing fast, find what your problems or “bad-habits” are and take them on directly.
I started learning the guitar just to be able to perform the solos of my favourite musicians and to build fast pieces just as good as my idols, but with my 70-80 bpm I didn’t have too much of a chance to achieve that. So to learn to play guitar fast, a friend of mine recommended me an excellent online program that contained everything I needed to know. Here are a few tips that I’ve learned after only the first lessons.
1. To learn to play guitar fast, firstly you need to start playing everything you’re working on, slowly. No matter what piece you’re going to play, start as slow as 40 bpm. Even if you don’t like using a metronome, it really helps a lot if you set it for 40 bpm for start. This means that every note you play must correspond to a click of the metronome. If you’re able to keep it up and play your part without a flaw, take it to the next level. Increasing the tempo each day, you will be able to play faster. It’s important to take your time, don’t try to increase your guitar speed by too many bpm from an exercise to another, this might get you finger pain. Only try a faster tempo after you perfected a certain speed.
2. An important method to advance your guitar speed is to play ascending and descending pieces without stopping. There are many ascending-descending exercises that you can practice on, they are usually easy to follow and they sound cool. So, to learn to play guitar fast, find a few that fit to your style to begin with.
3. Another trick to learn to play guitar fast is to find a few easy, yet good songs to play. There are many songs which have a few simple chords at the base, for example, “Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit” (actually most of Nirvana songs are easy to play), “Deep Purple – Smoke On The Water”, “The Troggs – Wild Thing” or “Bob Marley – No Woman, No Cry”. Study the chords in the simple songs you find, then simply watch the artists playing, on youtube. Even if these songs aren’t too fast, being easy to play, you can play them at higher speed and your guitar skill will improve.
4. Always set up goals. If you want to learn to play guitar fast it’s important to focus on achieving certain speeds on a group of exercises, after a certain number of guitar practice sessions. For example try playing a difficult piece of music at your maximum speed every day, then try to achieve perfection for that piece at the current speed you’re able to play it. However, don’t play through the pain if your hands start to hurt, this may cause wrist and finger injuries and you’ll have to stop your guitar training for a while.
5. If you get too frustrated because the sounds you want just don’t come out, relax, improvise and have fun with it. One of the goals of music is to entertain people. Fake the song you want to play, but try to do it without buzzing or without playing out of tune. Even if you fake a song, make it sound good.
I hope my tips have really helped you in your conquest for guitar speed at least a little, but if you really want to become a really fast guitar player, then you should check out the Guitar Guide that I’ve been using. I was able to rise from 80 bpm to 170 in just a few days, and that was more than I expected.

Therefore, I’m going reveal here, a few easy and catchy songs to learn on guitar, that will surely bring you satisfaction.
Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana. This song is one of the characteristic songs of Nirvana. It contains a simple guitar solo, easy to learn by a beginner. This solo can be performed without the pinky finger, but it’s indicated to use it, especially when playing the 8th fret notes when passing from G to D, and from D to A. Also, use the index finger to bend the 8th fret notes, to obtain the characteristic effect of this song.
Wild Thing – The Troggs. If you learn to play guitar online, without a music instructor, as a hobby, another song you might want to jam on, is “Wild Thing”, by The Troggs. This song is written in A major, and is based around the chord progression (I – IV – V – IV), which is the skeleton of the main riff. If you’ll listen to the song in its original version, you will find out that the guitars are not strictly tuned to middle C, and the slightly sharp tuning of the chords take the song midway between A and Bb. If you know the lyrics, it’s easy to sing along as you play it on your guitar, and this song will certainly make an impression.
Smoke On The Water – Deep Purple. This song has one of the most famous guitar riffs of all time. This is one of the riffs that many electric guitar players begin with. The guitar riff is played in the G pentatonic scale and harmonized in fourths.
