Beware of Online Fraud
Online fraud can come in many forms. Thanks to our government who now allows anyone who you owe money to the right to electronically withdraw it from your checking account if a contract is in place, more and more online fraud is occurring.
Many people may not even realize that they are in a legal binding contract. The online fraud is so smoothly infiltrated that even a savvy individual can be taken. There have been thousands of people who realized money was being withdrawn from their accounts and sometimes in a large sum. The complaint that they were unaware of why the money was being taken would be disputed by a company who had a legal contract to take it, saying you agreed to it.
Electronically signing is a legal method for signing contracts so you have to be very careful of it. The possibilities for online fraud are astonishing using electronic signatures to swindle people out of thief hard earned money.
Once you have been the victim of an online fraud from electronic signature the only way out usually results in closing the account the card is connected to. You may not be able to get the finds back that were removed from that account.
An example of the scam is an email or PPC or even a website that says you can make $3500 in 30 minutes and asks for $49 for the CD containing the information. Most times you will be given the CD for free if you ACT NOW. You will however be charged shipping and handling, the deal seems great and there is no fear of being ripped off right?
Most people will opt for having the information downloaded to their computers – so why wait to send payment through regular mail that could take forever. With paying that small shipping fee of $7 you just gave the crook your credit card number. You will see or maybe not see a free trial offer that will include the advice of an expert or something, usually not speaking English, but the main thing is you might have signed up for a monthly fee and not even realized it. With the payment online you verified contract agreement so read everything before you buy.
