The nursery operates from a converted Children’s Home in a residential area, open from 7.30am to 6.30pm.

We provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment in which children can grow and develop with respect, self discipline and independence. The nursery currently employs one part time staff and eight full time qualified members of staff. We have a cook who prepares the children’s meals on site. The nursery does not allow students, work experience or unqualified staff to work within the setting. There can be no substitute for a visit, so come and see us at work and play!

There are six main care rooms for the varying ages of children, which are supported by a messy play room, music room and front and rear gardens for the children to play and further increase their social, moral and spiritual development. The rear gardens are open access for our three to five years during the summer months, and timetabled to ensure access is available for all the children.

Our pre-school children have dance lessons each week and take trips to the local library. Children aged three, four and five are constantly encountering new experiences and seeking to understand them in order to extend their skills, develop their confidence and build on what they already know. Children deepen their understanding by playing, talking, observing, planning, questioning, experimenting, testing, observing, reflecting and responding to adults and to each other. At Munchkins we need to plan learning experiences of the highest quality, considering both children’s needs and achievements and the range of learning experiences that will enable them to make progress.
